A joint is canoeing when one side of the joint burns faster than the other, leaving one side of the joint without a blaze. This causes the joint to form a canoe shape, thus the name.

A canoeing joint can frustrate any stoner. Just the sight of your masterpiece burning incorrectly, can be enough to disappoint all stoners. It just ruins the whole experience of your rotation. When your "Rocket Ship" starts blazing too much on one side, your herbs will begin to waste away, and you won't be able to toke as efficiently.
Follow These Steps To Stop A Joint From Canoeing:
Step 1
Wet the tip of your finger, and gently moisten right below the lit end of the joint. (Make sure to lightly moisten the canoeing area)
Step 2
After you have moistened the affected area of the joint, shortly use a flame to light the end of the joint that is canoeing. The canoeing end will slowly burn away and allow you to continue enjoying your herbs.
Tips:
Use short strong tokes when lighting your joint to prevent sudden canoeing of the joint.
What Causes A Joint To Start Canoeing?
There are many things that can cause a canoeing joint. Usually when a joint begins to form a canoe shape, it is because the joint was not rolled properly. However, it could also be caused by the elements and environment that you are exposed to while smoking. If it is windy where you've decided to engage in your club activities, then you may have some trouble keeping your joint from canoeing. Squeezing the joint while smoking can also lead to a canoeing joint.
Causes:
Joint Rolled Loose
Squeezing The Joint
Double Roll
Holes in Joint
Strong Wind
Holes in a joint are not uncommon, but can be easily prevented with good stoner observation and some skills at the roll. If there is a hole in your joint of any size, then your joint will not be able to burn correctly and may also form a canoe shape from the interrupted air flow. Loose joints can also result in a joint canoeing. If the herbs inside your joint have noticeable air pockets, then there is a high chance of your joint canoeing. If you happen to be a stoner that rolls a joint twice for a slow burn, your joint may be more susceptible to canoeing.
