Trulieve opens two medical cannabis stores in Georgia.
It's a big day for medical cannabis patients in Georgia as Trulieve, a leading medical cannabis company, opened the state's first two dispensaries on Friday. Finally, patients who are registered in the state's medical cannabis program can legally purchase the medicine they need.
At Stoners Club, we believe that everyone deserves access to safe, quality cannabis products. So we're thrilled to see Georgia taking this important step forward for patients in need. With nearly 30,000 registered medical cannabis patients in the state, it's clear that there is a real demand for this medicine.
Trulieve CEO Kim Rivers agrees. "We believe that access to medical cannabis improves lives, and Trulieve is proud to be the first to provide that access to the state of Georgia," she said in a press release. "We look forward to providing high-quality products and an elite experience."
"A New Era for Medical Cannabis Patients in Georgia"
The opening of these dispensaries is the result of the 2015 Haleigh's Hope Act, which legalized medical cannabis treatment in the state. Since then, physicians have been able to prescribe cannabis oil with no more than 5% THC to patients suffering from a range of qualifying conditions. These include cancer, epilepsy, Crohn's disease, Parkinson's disease, and more.
But despite the law's passage, full implementation has been delayed due to regulatory issues. That means patients have had to wait years to get the medicine they need, even as the number of registered medical cannabis patients in the state has continued to grow.
At Stoners Club, we know that access to medical cannabis can be life-changing for those who need it. That's why we're committed to advocating for the rights of patients and fighting for legalization across the country. We're excited to see Georgia taking this important step forward, and we hope that more states will follow their lead.
